Terms of Sale

These terms apply when you buy the digital edition of Sweet & Free from sweetandfree.com. Please read them before you pay. By completing a purchase you agree to them.

2. What you are buying
Sweet & Free is a digital cookbook delivered as a PDF file. It contains 50+ dessert recipes and a substitution guide. It is not a physical book, and nothing is posted to you. Paperback and hardcover editions are sold separately on Amazon under Amazon's own terms, not mine.
The file opens on any device with a PDF reader. You are responsible for having a device that can open it.
3. Price and tax
Prices are shown in US dollars. I am not registered for VAT, so no VAT or sales tax is added at checkout — the price you see is the total you pay, wherever you live.
Occasional discounts are offered to people on my email list. A discounted price applies only within the period stated in the offer.
4. Payment
Payment is handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. Your purchase is complete when Stripe confirms the payment.
5. Immediate access and your right of withdrawal
This section matters, so it is set apart.
Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. That right does not apply to digital content delivered immediately, provided you have asked for immediate delivery and understood that you are giving the right up.
By completing your purchase you expressly ask for the file to be made available to you straight away, before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and you acknowledge that you therefore lose your statutory right of withdrawal.
This does not remove the refund I offer voluntarily. See Refunds — that policy is more generous than the statutory right, and it still applies.
6. Delivery
After payment you are taken to a page with a download link, and the same link is emailed to you. If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check Promotions and Spam, then write to me and I will send the file myself.
If you lose the file later, email me and I will send it again. There is no expiry and no limit on this.
7. What you may and may not do with the file
Buying the book gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it. You may:
- Read it on any device you own
- Print pages for your own use in your own kitchen
- Bake the recipes for yourself, your family, friends, or to sell in your own business
You may not:
- Share, forward, upload, resell or give away the file or any part of it
- Reproduce the text, photographs or layout in print or online
- Use the content to create a competing publication or course
The recipes themselves are yours to bake and sell. It is the book — the writing, the photographs and the design — that is protected.
8. What the book does not promise
The recipes contain nuts and soy. They are written to be free of gluten, dairy and eggs, and they are not suitable for nut or soy allergies. If you or someone you bake for has a food allergy, check every ingredient and every brand yourself before baking.
Nothing in the book is medical or dietary advice. If you have coeliac disease or a diagnosed allergy, follow your doctor's or dietitian's guidance.
Baking results depend on your ingredients, your oven and your technique. I cannot guarantee a particular outcome.
9. Changes
I may update the book and correct errors. If a meaningful correction is made, I will email everyone who has bought it with the new file at no cost.
I may change these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to you are the ones published when you bought.
10. Law and your rights as a consumer
These terms are governed by the law of Latvia.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protections of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in — nothing here takes those away. If you are in the United States or elsewhere, your local consumer protection law applies in the same way.
If something goes wrong, write to me first. Most things are settled in one email, and I would much rather hear from you than have you go through a payment dispute.
